Chris A. Johnson – Owner & Operator

I first witnessed the power of a Granberg Alaskan chainsaw mill in 1973 while working in Felton, California. That moment sparked a lifelong passion for sustainable woodworking and milling. Under the guidance of the renowned wood craftsman Cliff Short, I honed my skills and began production milling in 1978 after receiving a gift of a black walnut orchard. I transformed that orchard into high-end table tops and gun stocks, marking the beginning of my professional journey.

In 2003, I upgraded to a Wood-Mizer LT40 with remote Accuset, allowing for faster and more efficient milling. Over the past two decades, I’ve evolved into an Eco Resource Consultant, helping hundreds of landowners and government agencies create responsible land and timber management plans.

Whether it’s one log or hundreds, I provide full job site logistics, consultation, and expert milling services.
